About

Elks Lodges bring so much more to their communities than just a building, golf course or pool. They are places where neighbors come together, families share meals, and children grow up.

Elks invest in their communities through programs that help children grow up healthy and drug-free, meet the needs of today's veterans, and improve the quality of life.

The West Citrus Elks is Non-Profit organization that provides back to the community.  Our motto is Elks Care/Elks Share.  The Lodge provides assistance to various organizations within the community (i.e. food banks, food pantries, clothing, adopt a highway program, cub scouts, vouchers for Elks Summer Camps for kids 9-13, etc).  Some of our monthly activities include Bingo, Trivioke, Bar Bingo, Line Dancing, Karaoke, Music Bingo, Movie Night, etc.  We also hold special events which provide entertainment and food to raise money for our Lodge.  Check out our calendar on our web page for events and times.  Stop on in, talk to members and see what our lodge does for the community.

Veterans Committee: The Elks are committed to their mission, "So long as there are veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will never forget them.  They provide welcome home kits monthly to Bridge for Veterans and St Vincent DePaul for homeless veterans establishing a new resident.  They have a sewing for veterans group that make lap/wheel chair quilts, fidget blankets, bibs, walker caddies, etc.  They also purchase material, sew and quilt "Quilts of Honor" for the Military of Honor Purple Heart and present them during the Purple Heart Ceremony in August.

Ladies of the Elks:  The ladies of the Elks provide mentorship and crafts to girls at the Girls Camp.  They provide a float for the Christmas Parade in Crystal River, provide an Angel tree to help provide gifts for the less fortunate during Christmas,  Provide back packs for back to school, volunteer to wrap gifts during the holidays, etc.  They raise money by having yard sales, bake goods, craft sales, etc., to help with their programs.

The Order spends more than $80,000,000 every year for benevolent, educational and patriotic community-minded programs in such fields as benefitting special needs children, sponsoring Elks National Foundation scholarships, scouting, athletic teams, veterans, a national "Hoop Shoot" free-throw contest involving more than 3 million children, physical and occupational therapy programs and patriotic programs.

The youth of our country have always been important to the Order. It is for this reason the Elks Drug Awareness Education Program was launched to warn primary grade students and their parents of the dangers in drug use. Additionally, every lodge observes June 14th as Flag Day, a tradition which the Elks began in 1907 and was later adopted by the Congress as an official observance.
